EFCC Chairman Olukoyede to Speak at WorldStage Economic Summit 2025

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has confirmed his participation in the WorldStage Economic Summit (WES) 2025 scheduled for Friday, November 21, at The Event Centre, Nigerian Exchange Limited, Lagos.

Olukoyede, under whose leadership the EFCC has recovered over N566 billion and other assets in the last two years, is expected to speak on “Anti-Corruption Efforts of the EFCC to Boost Ease of Doing Business.”

The theme of this year’s summit is “Tackling the Issue of Low Productivity in Nigeria.”

According to a statement by the organisers, World Stage Limited, the EFCC chairman will join other top industry leaders, including the Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, Dr. Olasupo Olusi; Director-General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mr. Segun Ajayi-Kadir; Director-General of NECA, Mr. Adewale Smatt-Oyerinde; and University of Lagos scholar, Dr. Abidemi Adegboye.

The organisers also disclosed that one state governor, one minister and 21 organisations will receive the WorldStage Economic Summit Awards for Outstanding Economic Impacts in 2025.

WES, a research and innovation-driven platform, is designed to diagnose Nigeria’s economic challenges and explore practical solutions through engagement with public and private sector leaders.

Major institutions supporting WES 2025 include the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), NLNG, Zenith Bank, Access Bank, Polaris Bank, Fidelity Bank, Sterling Bank, Sahara Group and Ecobank.

Stakeholders in food production, technology transfer, job creation, energy, banking, the blue economy and export promotion are expected at the summit. Participants will also be drawn from the manufacturing, oil and gas, housing, agriculture, water resources, banking, insurance, maritime, ICT, aviation, mining, hospitality, health care, education, transportation and media sectors.

President/CEO of World Stage Limited, Mr. Segun Adeleye, noted that low productivity remains one of Nigeria’s biggest economic challenges, despite high levels of employment.

“Even though many are working, almost half of Nigerians live below the poverty line because the right jobs are not available,” he said.

Adeleye explained that WES 2025 will explore evidence-based policies for job creation, legislative interventions to reduce economic losses from multiple public holidays, strategies to boost earnings in low-productivity sectors, and macroeconomic reforms to attract foreign investment and link Nigerian firms to global value chains.

Other focus areas include trade liberalisation, skills development, infrastructure upgrades, mineral resource integration under AfCFTA, and improved tax administration to mobilise domestic revenue.

WES, he added, remains a vital platform for networking, policy dialogue and collaboration among government, industry leaders and professionals.
